Another month, another great live event in InstallerSHOW

Fresh from Clerkenwell Design Week in May, last week we joined the great and the good from the HVAC industry in Birmingham for InstallerSHOW – the biggest national exhibition in the HVAC calendar.

It was fantastic to see Hall 5 at the NEC buzzing for three whole days as more than 15,000 installers, engineers and manufacturers came together to celebrate a thriving industry.

And what a contrast from just three years ago! Back in 2020, after the first lockdown, it seemed live events were a thing of the past. Back then, Zoom and Teams and other virtual meeting spaces had become a necessary part of our working lives, and you could barely imagine a time when so many people would feel comfortable, or even be allowed, to congregate together again.

But thankfully times have changed, and exhibitions such as InstallerSHOW prove just why it’s so important for people to have the time and ability to network face to face.

Walking around the 450 stands, we were struck by just how many people had embraced the chance to see and be seen, with some spectacular stands playing host to new products, special offers and some promotions. Everyone was engaged and excited to be presenting their businesses, and the visitors we chatted to were thrilled to have a single place where they could come together, meet each other, and catch up with old friends. Not to mention the main draw of InstallerSHOW – to see what’s new in the industry and learn how they can use these new products and services to grow their own businesses.

And if InstallerSHOW was anything to go by, it’s an exciting time to be part of the industry. There’s so much happening right now, with new technology and government regulations around heat pumps and boilers likely to transform the industry in the coming years.

That’s why it was amazing – but not surprising – to see that the seats were packed for speaker after speaker as experts from across the industry came together to explore the future of heat, water, air and energy.

With such a bright and dynamic future ahead, whether you’re already in the industry, or considering a career move, the HVAC sector is a place where you can find fantastic opportunities and craft out a long-lasting and fulfilling career.

People join the industry and stay for decades, having discovered an all-embracing community where manufacturers, merchants, suppliers and installers work hard and play hard together for the common good. We’ve certainly found that in our own decades of experience working in the HVAC market.
